Construction Science and Management Electives
Fall 2024 electives
Professional electives are upper level courses selected to develop and enhance a student’s knowledge
of a specific specialty area in the science of construction.
Students may take any of the courses on the approved list above or on the approved list below to meet the remainder of their professional elective requirements. Students are responsible for checking current semester offerings and prerequisites and meeting any such requirements prior to enrolling in any of the following courses.

Students may take any of the courses on the following approved list to meet the management elective requirement. Students are responsible for checking prerequisites and meeting any such requirements prior to enrolling in any of the courses.

Suggested K-State Core courses for ARE and CNSM students
The K-State Core framework, for all students entering the department fall 2024 and beyond and students who have switched to the new curriculum, has 6 disciplinary elective areas and one free elective area. Department students taking all required coursework, completely satisfy requirements 1-4. Students must choose courses from requirements 5-7 to complete the K-State Core.
The department recommends several courses on the lists for requirements 5-7 that relate to desired skills in the design and construction industry, or may help with the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. ARE and CNS students are not required to take any of the courses listed below. These are just suggestions for students interested in completing courses that may be a benefit upon entering the workforce.
