Accelerated B.S./M.S. in Architectural Engineering

The department offers an accelerated bachelor's and master's degree program to undergraduates in architectural engineering. This professional master's degree challenges top students in architectural engineering with research experiences, faculty mentoring and advanced coursework. Students and faculty are matched by interest and capability to determine an emphasis area, program of study, and graduate committee. Current emphasis areas include the following: mechanical systems, electrical power distribution, illumination and building structural design.

Students seeking the accelerated B.S./M.S. degree program must meet the following requirements to be admitted to the graduate school:

  • Complete 97 or more credit hours of the four-year architectural engineering curriculum
  • Obtain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the architectural engineering curriculum
  • Submit three letters of recommendation
  • Submit a Statement of Objectives/Letter of Intent
  • Complete Major Professor Form (pdf)
  • Meet all entrance requirements of the graduate school with the exception of completing a bachelor’s degree
  • Be accepted by the architectural engineering graduate faculty

This program allows accepted students to apply a maximum of nine credit hours towards both the bachelor's degree and the master’s degree.
