Pair of architectural engineering students receive ASHRAE scholarships
Two architectural engineering students at Kansas State University received scholarships from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, for the 2025-26 school year.
Ryan Ray, senior in architectural engineering, Blair, Nebraska, and Hannah McCormick, senior in architectural engineering, Overland Park, each received society-level awards from ASHRAE. Ray received the Willis H. Carrier Schlarship for the amount of $10,000, while McCormick received the Alwin B. Newton Scholarship for the amount of $5,000.
Through its scholarships, ASHRAE seeks to motivate current and prospective students worldwide to pursue an engineering or technology career in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration field, part of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics industry. The program has awarded more than $2.25 million to hundreds of deserving students over the last 30 years.
